Lee, I bought the HT-10's specifically for track use. I don't want to return these because porterfield will charge me a restocking fee, I would much rather find a machine shop that has the proper tools to mill the brake pad.
I'll definitely give the wilwood compound a shot after I use these pads up...will make things much easier since they make a pad for the caliper. As long as they're 12mm I'll be happy :)
Do you want to do mine? I'd be more than happy to ship these to ya and pay for the service...Let me know if you have the time.

You could try a different machine shop. I've used a high speed steel fly cutter on a manual mill to face race pads. This is very basic equipment that any machine shop should have.
Hopefully more companies will start to support the dynapro caliper soon.Leave a comment:

What type of duty you expect? Track? if so, I suggest Wilwood's H compound for the track, and keep the BP20s for the street. H pads have a very high coefficent of friction. I don't know one person who disliked it for track duty. That pad is not harsh on rotors as long as it is not daily driven. It is also (relatively) long lasting. And as it is a pad made for Wilwood by Raybestos, you can be sure it will fit the caliper. The pads you got from Porterfield are most likely 16mm thick, while you need the 12mm units.

Okay bad news. The f'in pads don't fit. They're far too thick and the local machine shop couldn't take of 3mm from each pad simply because they didn't have the cutting tools.
Does anyone know what I can do in this situation besides telling Porterfield these are no good?Leave a comment:

HT10 pads require a manly bed-in procedure. Meaning they will shudder during your first track session. Don't worry. Brake hard and lay an even transfer layer. Also, you may drive a whole year on the street, they still won't be bedded in until you track them...Leave a comment:
