GRM has always been partial to BMWs. This month, the chief editor's teenage son buys an e30 and as a father/son weekend project they go over the car and change 25 years old suspension components. Very instructive reading for all but the experts.

Son's name is Tom Studdard, father's name is Tim.
It was great to see another tech article for a car that stopped production close to 20 years ago...Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Hello, I'm here.
As far as the exterior damage, I fixed most of it with junkyard replacement panels a few weeks after I got the car, so there aren't many pictures. The passenger door had way too much bondo in it, the decklid was rusted through, and the driver's fender was in crappy primer (I krylon'd that).
I drove it like this for a few years, the only remaining major cosmetic problem being a poorly repaired (bondo!!!) right rear fender that had been lightly hit. Then this past summer, I bit the bullet and stripped the car to bare metal, PROPERLY fixed all of the damage (aka with a hammer and dolly, not chewing gum or whatever some of you use), and painted it with top of the line PPG paint.
All of the pictures in the article are pre-paint.
