TAG is a blast. Then again I am in CA, I have a Parilla Leopard I probably want to sell though for a stock moto package.

Sold my shifter and kept the Tags. No competition in shifter around here. Tag is ridiculous. 5 of my local competitors went to supernats this year. One was this years national WKA tag champ, another the HPV champ of '06 (I think). Trying to keep up with these guys near impossible. I love it. I don't really miss the gears either.
If I lived in Cali though... Stock Moto for sure.'99 e36 M3 - 6mt

I road race, 06 and 07 I won two duffies at the IKF RRGN's, and got 5 regional championships in those two years. I was nearly running with the motos, only a couple guys could keep up. Then I left my job where I got parts cheap and kind of got out of it for a while. Not so many class entries either anymore, but the stock moto guys are averaging fields of 15 or so in that class alone.Comment

There is actually a 3-day test going on this upcoming week with GRAND-AM Rolex and Continental from Nov30-Dec2nd at Homestead Miami. I believe it's open to the public, great opportunity to go and check out all the cars without the race weekend securities most teams put on. Are you in Tampa or Miami? I have a few friends in the Florida area that kart and could ask where to go.carguy101- Meh, I can't stand those electric ones for some reason. There's a great track in Palmetto that I frequent.
Joey- Pretty cool to see a pro racer on the forum. I'm looking to start out cheap and learn the tricks. I'm looking into getting something like a PRD engine as M-technik suggested and a 2 year old chassis.
Maybe I might catch you when you guys come into homestead next year.
Oh, and I'm down to meet some local karters if you know any down here.
In terms of the shifter vs TAG argument, I think that you can learn more in a TAG kart than a shifter. That doesn't necessarily mean that they are more fun, but the TAG will certainly teach you much better driving habits than a shifter where you can simply bump down a gear and pull out of a corner without losing much time. If people are looking to improve driving, TAG is the way to go. If people are looking for pure fun factor, shifters are awesome.Comment

Nice to see so many people into karting. I can't really afford to go straight into shifter karts and I'd like to stick where the competition is at.
Joey- I currently live in Tampa, but drive down on occasion to visit family in Miami. Can't really come down next week because of work; but when does GRAND-AM test at Daytona next time?Originally posted by StereoInstaller1Do you feel like something is trying to penetrate your butthole?Comment

Sweet, Keiths a good guy and the rentals guys are fun to watch since its usually a crash fest.
E-Thirty: You can find very affordable packages from many shops in FL. Take a look around and talk to the shops. I'm sure they'll work with you to get you into something decent and in your price range.
madman23: $500/weekend is better than the $1000+ for tires only on the M (which you can TRASH in one event). lol'99 e36 M3 - 6mt

I ran in the rotax dd2 class with a crg chassis. Very fun and competitive class, and pretty big kart count(I ran in south Africa and most race days were 15+:shock:Originally posted by blunttechLevent guzzles vanilla hazelnut creamer like its my semenComment

I used to autocross a Top Kart with a balanced and blueprinted KT100. Lots of fun, although you can race a car cheaper than a kart if you want to.Comment
