    need a SPEC M42 class

There's a Spec E30,E36,Spec3...why no Spec M42 class...talk about a cheap "budget race class"..Ive done research and have'nt seen one.there seems to be alot of 91 318I and IS's that are inexspensive and engine a plenty..I am thinking Spec E30 suspension, brakes, and drop the weight.
I have been racing with NASA for years and sold my 944 (944CUP) over the summer, and am looking to get into a new series..hell, maybe i will start one! what do ya think??

    good:)

    bad:(

Well, since the M42s are cult cars that hold their value better than the 325i does, and since there are less of them, starting a spec series doesn't seem like a great idea to me.

Really? I had no idea our cars held their value better than the 325s...
but the big problem is that there aren't as many m42 cars around..

Other problem is that M42 parts cost more than m20 parts, atleast from what I have seen.

Wouldn't a SpecM42 class be like the Special Olympics? ;-) Great people who are missing "a little something"...

Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

As I recall, in the beginning Spec E30 included a sub class for 318's. But that was dropped a while back because of a lack of participation. A 318 just wasn't competitive with a 325i and nobody came. To be a success I think you'd have to have a separate series. And even then I'm not sure it compete for entries with Spec E30.

Why not just build a Spec E30?
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Spec M42: because an M20 just isn't cheap enough.

                      Just do SE30.
