    PIR deja-vu on May 26

Man, what an e30 turnout. I will probably get this wrong due to an old memory but here goes. Ted, Evan and I caravaned up at 5:30 a.m. We were greeted by no less than 6 e30 M3s including Ted's. 3 red, 2 silver, 1 white. 2 Ferraris worth half a mill. were there. One even drove during the day. There were several e30 325i cars and a 318is that was very impressive indeed. The owner Tim is a nice guy and man can he drive. He runs in the advanced group with me and he is tough to get away from. Ted had a blast and managed to get himself a black flag for exploring the grassy non-paved portion of turn 6 HEE-HEE :D No harm, no foul. It was freakin' hot! No one crashed. We somehow went through 25 gallons of gas in 8 sessions between Evan and I in the M-Technic. Ted is hooked. We need new brake pads. There was a turbo 89 325i with 300 h.p. Wasn't on the track unfortunately. No big problems. We all made it home dreamin and schemin about the next upgrades for the next time. More addictive than drugs, beware! What a place to learn car control, though. They repaved the chicane and it is way more fun and faster than before. One of the fun moments was when Evan was out in intermediate in the afternoon and I was watching him from the stands. Our 70 year old friend Rich in the silver M3 was out with the other silver M3 and Evan had just passed the other silver one when he spotted Rich ahead of him. Little did he know that Rich had just come in and switched drivers with Tim. As Evan was trying to catch him, he was thinking "Man Rich is a lot faster this afternoon." Tim had never driven a M3 before and held his own. It wasn't until they came in after the session that he realized what was going on. Fun stuff! Ted should have some good pics.

Give us some warning before you guys go out next!
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Are you guys going to be out there for the Porsche day on Friday? Looks like it is supposed to be nice weather. I have not heard if they have sold out, but I got my application in last week. Otherwise, I will see you guys at the July 22 ACA day. I'm hoping to get a handle on the new chicane, as I had my car sideways a couple of times exiting turn 2. After watching the CHAMP car race, I have a few adjustments to my line to try out. I know there cars handle a little bit differently than ours (understatement of the century), but I liked a few things that I saw (turns 1 & 5).
