I was rooting for the E30. I wonder what would happen if the E36 320si raced. That had the S42.

While the E90 likely would have still posted better resuts (you can't argue with technical progress), I'd like to think the spread would have been closer with someone truely 'comfortable' in the E30. I mean, of course a driver that has been driving an E90 for the last season plus, and won a championship with it, is going to know how to get the best times out of that car. To then be thrown into a car that he has never driven is skewed.
