The Longest Day at Watkins Glen - June 13th 2011

So....... In Case you have not heard, Patroon had to give up the Tuesday in June of our normal 2 day event. Nascar needs the day.

So WGI has been Very accomodating to us on Monday. Patroon and NY chapters present the Longest Day of Watkins Glen, Monday June 13th.
From 8:00 AM to 12:00 --Traditional BMWCCA School with open track for advanced solo / Instructor candidate type drivers. From 12:00-1:00 Lunch break --BUT we will have touring laps for those not entered into the event ( ie your friends and family)
At 1:00 -- Instructor Ride alongs for Touring lap members brave enough to hop in a car.
1:00-5:00 --back to the Traditional HPDE/Open track format.
5:00-5:30 -- Dinner break.

5:30-8:30 -- OPEN TRACK! For instructors, Advanced Solo AND anyone signed off to solo that day.

Cost -- $275 for tradtional HPDE -- $325 for open track ( 4+ hours of track time). IF you sign up as a student and get signed off and want to do the open track but are not sure --Bring the $50 with you and pay that day.

So ....... One day event not enough for you to make the trip?

Sunday there is an FLR AutoX scheduled for Seneca Army depot.
OR plans are in the works for some sort of Wine tasting/ food thingy near Watkins Glen.

Tech will be at the Falls motel that Sunday night.

I don't have a track car, but I would love to watch. Is this open to the public to watch? I went to one in October that was drivers only, but I knew somebody on the TKI Volvo team :D Could walk right through the pits and talk to the racers, look at the cars, sign up to ride, ect... It was a blast and the reason I bought an e30 :P

Bump for ridiculous amounts of track time. Plans are being finalized for wine tasting on Sunday afternoon in case you need a bargaining chip for your significant other to make a weekend out of it if the Finger Lakes in the summer wasn't enough of a draw for a nice weekend trip.
