    crew needed!

april 10th, D-up! at monticello raceway is having a drift event and drivers are allowed a crew of three. i would like to have people with very deep mechanical knowledge of the e30 incase shit goes sour. that way, between the four of us, we could sort out issues with the setup of the car and the way im driving.

i will have a place to stay the night before, and i am covering your admission to the track.

so i need people to fill out the spots for:

    mechanic.

driving advisor(would watch my lines and the car and tell me if i should try something more aggressive or just critique me)

    videographer.

please post here if you can make it, and post up some credentials if you have any.

          Hey balooshinakus,

          thanks for the snide comment.
IF i was asking for a master mechanic then i would have typed in "looking for a master mechanic".

im more than mechanically competent, the only things i dont trust myself in doing is machine work, everything else is easy.
ive swapped a g260 on my car in 45 minutes flat, done a motor swap in about 3 hours, done a head gasket in car in 3.
hell two weeks ago, my car went from a shell to a whole car with a rollcage bolted in all nice in four days by myself.
the engine for this season took only six hours total to completely reseal from top to bottom.

last season i was driver, mechanic and tire guy but i really want to be able to focus on my driving this season to hopefully pick up a tire sponsor to curb costs for next season.
i only have one set of hands, and having a crew for the first event of the season that is all oriented around the e30 would be a great thing. not only would it say alot about the e30 community, but it would also hopefully give some inspiration to younger generation of drivers, builders and enthusiasts. the e30 is a car meant to be tracked and enjoyed not beat and neglected.

D-up! is about getting serious enthusiasts out to the track if they have an appreciation for racing. I hope to do my part by bringing REAL enthusiasts (no bench racers) to the track to share the experience of being at a world-class facility like MMC, since the chances of the general public to get in this year are slim to none. Monticello isn't open to the public this season, so you cant really get in unless you know someone really well. Besides the possibility of doing a little work on my car, it is free for the crew since im paying for the whole goddamn thing.

          Regards,
          G.Nazareno

thank you for the response, but if you thing drifting is lame then get out of my thread. your comment is unwarranted, and unwelcome.

this season is drifting, but who knows what i can get myself into next season.

Have you ever been to a drift event or just saying that based off of Fast and Furious?

Yeah I think street drifting is dumb and the whole publicly viewed drift scene is a little played out. But being at a serious event with real dudes with real talent doing some really awesome shit is awesome.

                        Im stoked.
