I have a z3 rack rebuilt by Maval in my e30. I am not running power steering, and have a block off plate installed. I have less than three hours on this rack, and the damn thing is slipping. It only slips at the point when you change direction. The slip is not midway through the rotation of the wheel, but only when you reverse direction. I checked, and it is not in the steering shaft. You will hear a pop sound when it slips. The sound is louder when turning the wheel to the right, but the slip is the same in either direction... Any suggestions or ideas??
