    Grassroots Gymkhana

Last month (3/27), ThunderHill Raceway held their first Gymkhana event. I'd been signed up for a while, and was really looking forward to the event. It didn't have a huge turn-out due to the lack of advertising for the event, but it was a total blast regardless.

The track in the morning featured a reverse-to-forward J-Turn, but it was ditched when people bitched about it just being too rough on tires, and the car. (And it was a bitch for me to get into first from reverse.)

Here are some pictures and videos from the event, I ended up winning with a best time of 59.006, versus second place's best time of 59.086 (Joshua Sher in a 350z)

my best, and the fastest run of the day:

As well as FittedLife's article covering the event:

If anyone else is interested in competing, the next event is on 5/15, and signups can be found here.

There were 3 RWD cars including me, and 1 FWD. The amount of drive time that day was ridiculous, I probably got over 2 hours worth.

You thinking about coming out to the second event? It's 5/15! I would love to finally meet you in person, haha.

eh it's too far for me. Besides, they're starting a drift thing at infineon (starting in may) and Auto-x just started here in Santa Rosa. If i head out to Thunder hill, it will be to drive one of the full track days.
