That's all I can eek out. 1:11.005 is my best time there on NT01's. I never got to run it with an s52 and hoosiers.

That was on star specs, and HT-10s up front with stock pads rear. I really need a brake upgrade, or at least a fluid one - pretty sure I was boiling my fluid.

            Hankook RS3s!

HAPPY NEW YEAR (yes i'm on rev right now)

When is the JMP Auto crew going to hit another trackday? Seems like you guys are the only other E30 drivers who track their cars in socal. Shame on all the S5x swap people who don't put those M3 engines to proper use!

I might sign up for this, however, this is my senior year as an ME undergrad and I actually might need that 3 day weekend.

Any JMP auto guys tracking before January 17th??

I've only run Buttonwillow once. it was for VARA U last year. I was out with 7 year old RA1s. I don't know my lap times, but at the end of the weekend, I was the fastest guy out there. I don't think my lap times were all that impressive, but of the group of us, I won the final race of the weekend by about 1/4 lap.

I can run a 1:55 at Laguna Seca all day long, a friend of mine thinks my car is capable of a 1:46, but not with me driving. My best time at Sears Point was a 2:05, this time on 4 year old Hoosier Street TDs that I pulled out of the junk pile.

I can do 2:25s all day long with 180 other cars on Thunderhill in a Lemons race in a '99 Ford Escort ZX2.

I've never run an e30 on track, only my Datsun and the Lemons car. The Datsun gets scary if the tires aren't in good shape so if I were to ever run the car on a track with fresh tires, I might be a little faster than the middle of the field (Still, not bad since I can drive the car anywhere and not just on the track.) One of these days I'll actually do a race or track day on fresh tires. The Lemons car is what it is. Racing with 180 other cars on track is a good learning experience, it makes racing with 50 on track like running on an open track.

You SoCal guys should come up and run the tracks up here. Buttonwillow is fun, but Laguna Seca, Sears Point and Thunderhill are epic. The elevation gain at those tracks brings a whole new dynamic to going fast. Cresting turn 7 at Laguna and having the track just drop away from you takes a little getting used to. In my opinion, the cork screw isn't the scariest corner however, its turn 6 or 10. I nearly spun my car in 10 3 times and turn 6 nearly got me once, but I kept things together and kept it out of the dirt. Sears Point is a whole different ball game. Turn 1 can sneak up on you, turn 2 looks scary, but really isn't that bad unless you really blow it. Turn 5 is a lot of fun. Its turn 10 that will eat you alive if you don't give it some respect. Its the fastest turn on the track, if you get it wrong, you are eating a wall. Thunderhill has lots of tricky corners. Turn 1 looks easy but it can be a 100+ mph corner and you go from berm to berm if you get it right. Turn 3 puts the car right at the limit of traction, going outside here can be done, but the car really doesn't like doing it. Turn 5 is like turn 7 at laguna, it just falls away from you, but it stays off camber and you are forced to shift if you get slowed down on the entry to the corner. Turn 8 claims lots of people. In the Lemons car I've see 92 mph through that corner. I've also seen lots of people in the dirt upside down there. Turn 9 is lots of fun, late brake into there and you can pass lots of people. Too late puts you in the dirt. Turn 11 claims lots of people as well.

I've never driven Big Willow, or Streets of Willow, but the north state tracks are a lot more challenging than Buttonwillow. Chuckwalla looks like a fun track as well.

I don't think I'll ever run the M3 on track. I could never afford to fix it if I planted it in the wall, or if someone else blows it and attacks me. I'd love to, but I don't think it will ever happen.
