ive always wondered how it felt to be in a car thats flipping. i dont know why. i bet its not as interesting as it seems tho. glad your ok. was your friends car TOTALLY junked. like what parts are still usable? if any.

And i second some interior pics. the hood looks mangled so bad

As far as being inside the car whilst rolling, that was quite interesting. Believe it or not, watching YouTube and other videos of in-car rolling shots helped me relax a little.

The first gentle roll onto my side was sloooow motion. When the tire hit, grabbed the dirt and whipped us over, that's when it got to be faaaaast motion, but it seemed to take forever for the thing to finally stop.

I made the mistake of grabbing my head first, which pinched my finger between my helmet and the cage padding. Then I remembered to just grabbed the harnesses so my arms didn't fly out the windows.

We're gonna shoot the inside next week, then shoot it again when we peel the skin off.

The only things that we think survived are the driveline (for the most part), the trunk lid and wing, that brand-new windshield wiper and, umm, that's about it. The control arms either snapped off or are bent into half-circles, the struts are toast, wheels shattered on the inside.

Every single panel is bent, twisted or otherwise unusable. We're already on the prowl for a replacement shell.

Oh, and there's one good headlight left, but we'll have to cut it out.

Not that particular one, as it survived the crash and he's going to re-use it, but if you're interested, I might be able to sell you a new one.

Custom made by Bill Doyle at Cage This (cagethis.com), the same guy that built the cage. Give him a holler, tell him I sent you.

                    Thanks.

Yup, we're already planning for the next rally. Tearing down the car today, should have pics by tomorrow.

Yup. The very same. It's pretty crazy. Just a couple of scratches on the paint from normal wear-n-tear and that's it.

Holy crap! I'm glad you guys are ok! It sure sounded like a gnarly crash. I'm super impressed how the cage held up too!
