Alright, alright... I'll get a roll bar! Which one?
Alright, alright... I'll get a roll bar! Which one?
I know of the Autopower screw holes in the floor and bolt it in option, are there any other options that are readily available that you guys can suggest?
Kirk make decent one, I have driven cars with the Autopower, and it's not horrible, but it's also not as tight to the outer shell as a custom setup - so you may feel a bit claustrophobic!

Safety Devices (UK) and Wiechers-Sport (Germany) make the nicest bolt-in bars I've seen, with Heigo (Germany) close behind. But the price of shipping any of these from Europe would be more than the bar itself.
I haven't been super impressed by the fit/finish of the bars I've seen here in the US, including Autopower and Kirk. The VSR looked interesting, but there were some weird design choices (curved backstays!?!?). I haven't seen TC Kline in an E30, but their other bars look pretty good.
The VSR rollbar has not had curved backstays in a LONG time. I'm sure if you call and talk to VSR they can confirm the approximate date they switched over.
The backstays are straight. I helped MikeK install a VSR bar in his car back in 2009, and I had bought the bar used back in 2008.
The fitment is great, as it's very tight clearance to the headliner, and has good looking welds with good penetration. The only thing that may be interesting is that the rear harness crossmember is bolt-in. It can be optionally welded in, but then you'd have to cut it to remove the harness bar.
