BMW sedans have been used for racing for quite some time. I was once told (referring to an e36) that the b pillar gave it more rigidity, unsure of the truth to that and I'm sure someone here will have the knowledge

They got a car that was previously in a minor rear end collision but was salvaged...Hence racecar
