I think you're best bet to resolve this issue is a much larger BBK setup. Or just check your pads like Lee mentioned in BF. Takes nothing more than peeking above with the wheel off.

Edit: are you still running weaves? If so you need to get a track wheel with more open face.

Agreed, there's no reason to run them down that far if you're paying attention to your brakes.

I'll try the ducting first before I start increasing the size of the brakes/calipers. I was checking the pads without removing the wheel so thats certainly a mistake on my part. Like I said earlier on, I will be checking my pads more diligently from here on out.

      I've got 15x8 TR C1's :)

That's interesting. What's the ambient temp while you're out there? Do you still have your dust shields up front?

Its safe to say that everyone has driven that point home :)

Maybe its closer to 12-15 sessions, but they do last a while. I've got the dust shields removed, but no ducting. Ambient temps are in the 80s - 90s depending on the time of year.

I really don't think you have to upgrade just yet, you would have caught the pads if you were checking with the wheel off. For now I think plate removal and some ducting will do wonders. When the time comes upgrade to a bigger setup.

Some good pads were mentioned above, throw in a set of new and check the wear pattern after a few sessions. Then try a different set to see what works best for how you drive. If you need more grip just run a grippy compound and check the pads for excessive wear more often.

In the first picture it looks like your MT2 rear pod is not attached or something is loose? Just was wondering, and how do you like the clearance of the C1's? I am looking for something to run since I sold my slipstreams. Since I don't give a shit about my paint I am cutting up my fenders to flare them more. Nothing a welder and a sawzall cannot make =)

Nice, that definitely explains the longer pad life for sure. I'm going to go with the ducting because I think that will have a drastic improvement.

Yeh, I won't be upgrading just yet either, some proper ducting should do the trick me thinks. Will play around with the compounds. Lee keeps recommending the H compound from wilwood so I'll give that a shot as well as picking up another set of PFC 01's to compare.

You're right, one of the tabs on the pod is broken... they're fragile as heck. the one closer to the wheel well is still intact and obviously the upper portion clips into the qtr panel. I love the C1's, clearance is pretty good. Just be careful that you don't get the metal wheel weights on the inner section otherwise they'll hit the strut. Get the sticky weights and if you've got a BBK make sure you mind the clearance between the caliper and the sticky weights placed on the inside of the barrel.

You might be a smoother driver. Experience comes into play as well. WGI has some serious speed available if you have the hp. Hence why they added the chicane to slow the heavy Nascar guys down that have small brakes compared to their cars.

Here's a video from the event, 1st day still working on a few things. I think I'm rather smooth, most instructors have complimented me on this.

I went through a brand new set of pads right into the backing plates with a brembo kit on my e30 m3 during my 3rd track day. They were "performance" pads. I switched to real track pads (HT-10) and now they take for ever to wear and function much better.

If you get a pad hotter than what it's meant for, it will turn into butter and just shave away.

I read the thread as well as the bf.com thread as well. I am still pretty shocked by the "destruction". I am no expert (at all) but have plenty of track days, and this seams EXTREME. Who did the brake upgrade? (Not saying you messed up, but possibly)

Yes this is a street kit, and Massive makes some excellent products, but Ive even had better luck with a stock set-up.

Indeed. I will try without backing plates and then I will try with ducting.

I installed the kit myself. There really is nothing to it frankly. I have bled the brakes properly and have never experienced this on any other track except for Watkins Glen. Never had an issue at LRP, Lightning or Shenandoah.
