with that much tire, you lose turn in but increase grip. It must be a high speed autox track.

Guys it's a dedicated autoX car lol. Poke happens and 10-12 gallon cell isn't very necessary. IMO trying to use the stock location would be best because (A) it's low to the ground, and (B) moving it back to the trunk shifts weight outside of the wheelbase, which is something I would definitely avoid. That said, mounting it in the trunk will be much easier.

Richard, care to give us any more details on your car? Full suspension setup? I'm assuming engine swap since your running in SM? We have a couple other guys on here who are (or have) run DSP as well as SM, definitely some good info out there, may have to search a bit to find it though.

The tires are Hoosier A6s 275 wide on 15 inch rims. The rims are 10 inches wide... special made by Spin Werkes.

The rear fenders are unmodified but the springs have been changed to 800 lbs so the car can't lean into the tires.

The front fenders have be enlarged about an inch and a half on both the front and the rear edges. The front bumper has been spaced forward about an inch for clearance.

Yes, the stock location is ideal fro keeping your CG low. That being said, if you are thinking of doing enduro's ever, a fuel cell is the way to go.. We ran a spare tire cell in an eta at the Thunderhill 25hr, and while it wasn't the fastest setup, it was faster than a stock tank load (save for the spill penalties..) If you are doing any sort of racing (short of drag racing) I would say go for 10 gallon cell at the minimum.

Anybody else have input on this? My tank is pretty banged up and I am considering doing a fuel cell soon. Buying a warlboro for $50 from some kid who blew up his mk4

I mean, how big of a difference does it make to have the cell higher up than stock? also further back from stock location..? I have read that some people prefer stock tanks because of the nice location..

I fit a 16 gallon harwood fuel cell in the spare tire well. Had to make some cuts for the corners since it's square but it fit.

The walbro 255 is, from what others have told me, the go-to pump if you want to up the delivery power in your E30.

I have no experience with fuel cells, but try to find one that will fit in the spare tire well, to move the weight of the fuel a little closer to the ground.

started a topic fuel cell in E30

    fuel cell in E30

I'd like put a 5 gallon fuel cell in my trunk and get rid of the regular tank. Can anyone suggest one that has worked well for them? Also what fuel pump did you use?
