    SCCA Turkey Trot

Well just wanted to update you guys on my first actual race.... Qualified 25th out of 60 ish cars (will have an actual number when they post but 65 cars registered)... first race placed 1st in my class (out of four cars) and 21st overall (30 minute race).... second race (20 minute race) placed god knows where and fourth out of my class due to a minor spin in turn five... I was hunting down second place with another E30 M3 and had a great fun race... will post video once I get it uploaded...

Scott placed 2nd in class (E30 M3 pictured) and James (E36 328is) placed 3rd... I spun on the last lap... I think it was a curse because Dale (White E36 M3) spun first and then James spun and then me... Hmph...

Nice. How much did this cost you?

Congrats on your first race. I'm heading down that route and hope to have my comp. license by next fall.

Well you have to do an SCCA 'driving' school before you are allowed at any of the races... you are supposed to do two of them unless you are signed off...

        $180 was the race fee
        $120 for gas
        $120 for hotel
        $$ for food
        $$ parts

        It adds up..

Good goin Mike, what is the range of cars that you were classed with? 4cyls only? How is the 2.5 running?

The P2 class is a 'bastard' class... basically anything can go just have to have under 2.8L.... the 2.5L is strong but doesn't pull (really fast, but will catch one) on a 2.3L with a better line :)

It is two seconds faster at Sebring 2:35:XX compared to a 2:37:XX

I think we need to get it dyno'd and see what power we really have and see if there is room for improvement....otherwise its very strong.
