A couple of car nuts (including those nuts who set up shop one day) wished they had a venue to race their 80's German cars. And they figured the best way to do this would be to pit the Bavarian barnstormers against the saloons from Stuttgart. Thus born was the 1st Philippine DTM Revival Invitational Race (phew! That was a mouthful!)
The idea was to get e30s and 190Es on one grid, and throw in a few other cars that competed in the DTM touring car series in the 80s. Unfortunately, we decided to do this in the middle of the rainy season, and the weather looked like it wasn't gonna cooperate. And to further complicate matters, there wasn't much time for all the guys to get their cars track-ready. And a few of those that thought they were ready were wrong, and some cars didn't even leave the garages.
Nonetheless, we got a grid of 5 cars (an M3, two 325is, a 320i, and a 190E 2.5-16v) and had a go of it! Unfortunately, we didn't represent the e30 that well - the Cossie took first. In our defense, it was piloted by George Apacible, who is a local racing hero and performance driving instructor.
Anyway, here are a couple of pics:

It wasn't a big event, but we got some help from sponsors - Aguila Auto Glass, ARC Automotive, Bilstein, Brembo, H&R, Liqui Moly, Mio Watch, Refinish Line, and Sonax - to help offset the track costs. There's another race on November 18th, so here's hoping we get even more cars on the grid and have even more fun next time 'round!
