autocross is a ton of fun. great way to hone your skills and discover the limits of your car in a mostly controlled environment.

Ah man, I love me some autocross. I just wish we had better areas to have them. LHM racetrack supposedly isn't that cool because of the parking lot layout they make the SCCA use.

@ iwantspeed, how are you breaking engine mounts??
    Iwantspeed's wheelin it baby
And we track our cars hard. Not one CSS engine mount failure to date- On, and off road. :D

I enjoy going out just to drive the course multiple times. I usually stop because of my wallet(tires) or too tired to continue, or time to go home. But I usually get my fastest run in after about 6 runs if I have unlimited amount of times to run. Usually by the third time, or at least try to... Pro status. lol

Do you keep a log book about the runs/setup/ and weather along with thoughts of how the car is handling?
If whee30 was competitive in any one class, or if my rear end could hold an alignment, I may have. ;)

Actually when it was running the car handled very well, I had no qualms. Had no problems rotating and was very tossable, neutral and progressive, just needed a diff rebuild.

Didn't get the gopro until the car was already kaputt, so here's my fixed lens POS camera:

I HAVE spent hours on sims. I have regularly sat glued to the computer/TV for hours on end just zoning out racing for a good 10 years. But when you have a 40 second course and you haven't improved at all in the last 3 runs it is time to sit back and take a breather or call it quits. 5 years ago I would have said the same thing, but at this point I guess I realize that after so many runs if you are not improving because you're exhausted, it is no longer constructive.

For the original poster I have broken 2 sets of stock new rubber engine mounts, currently running CONDOR speeds shop solid engine and trans mounts.

Breaking an engine mounts at a autocross is not that far out of the question, carefully inspect yours, before going. it could make your day end early.

I have a hard time ending a day at autox. Even after 20+ runs

SUNSCREEN. Bring it and wear it, even if it's cloudy. You'll remember it for the second event if you forget it on the first ;)
