    Kosei K1 15x8 vs TRM C1 15x8

    Hi all!

    I just been offered a set of used Kosei K1 15x8 et22 73mm CB 4x100 for 880$ shipped.

I was leaning toward TRM C1 but the koseis are pretty rare in that fitment. Since I live in Canada, the price of the TRM C1 is not that cheep. around 600-700$ I think...

What you guy think? My car intend to be a fun summer car for DD in summer + track event (autocross, lapping and time trial). My car is bronzit (yeah I know...) Still was uncertain about color of wheels, maybe flat black?

What about BBK clearance? seen about TRM C1 (sport Massive kit) but nothing about Kosei... Maybe I haven't searched enough...

    Thanks!

$880? It better be with tires in real nice shape. $220 for just a wheel is way too much.
    Canadian dollars or US?

holy balls no wonder you have been offered a set of Kosei K1s for $880, whoever offered you that deal is about to make a lot of money.

iirc, you can get a set of 15x7 K1s brand new shipped from tirerack for around $500. So an extra inch of width does not merit another $330 for a used set.

Ascetically I prefer the TRM wheels over the K1's. I also prefer the price of the TRM wheels, they really are great wheels. I am only slightly biased:D

rather have the 8's over the 7's anyday. But then again I have a set. Depending on how clean they are would be a factor. But what car uses a 73mm CB with a 4x100 pattern

For the money the TRM's were on close out not long ago at Tire Rack.

Just check TRM at tire rack:

15x8 TRMotorsport C1 Light Grey Painted
                for 1989 BMW 325is In Stock 4 $104.00 $416.00

                Shipping Total: $169.20
                Excise Tax: $0.00
                GST: $23.05
                PST: $46.01
                Duty: $24.96
                Provincial Tire Fee:$0.00
                Brokerage Fee: $20.00

                Order Total (USD): $699.22

So yes, K1 at 880$ are way too expensive... like maybe 600$ shipped would be ok...

K1s have better BBK fitment IIRC, but the sport kit should fit under either wheel. Additionally, if you bend or crack a K1 you're SOL. So if you're not set on K1s or a more serious brake kit I'd just go for the TRM wheels.

You should get tirerack to mount tires on em, ship them to a warehouse service just over the us border, then drive over on basketweaves, and back on your new wheels. Worst case if they check in the trunk just say you bought the basketweaves from craigslist for a few hundred bucks.

C1's FTW. I got mine from tirerack with tires mounted and balanced for under 900 (usd) iirc.

...and there they are in my sig :P

could be nice if I wasn't at like 300 miles from the border...maybe I could match this with a lapping day!
