318i's like dirt: true story.

so, what exactly (other than a welded diff) is done for a circle-track car in terms of suspension, etc? Looks like the M10 in there is pretty much stock, or is it built?

stock. as the rules allow. gonna order good coil and wires. (need to find out if there is a performance ignition module avail) set of rocker locks and new arms and valve springs. underdrive pulley light weight flywheel. thats about all we can do other then stock parts to make it last all year.

deleted P/S and the fan. as for suspension, go with super soft springs and throw away the sway bar. this lets the body really lean in the corners wich transfers the weight nicely for dirt. on pavement this would result in over steer I beleive. but in dirt you can over a little oversteer and just correct it with steering wheel input.

the total weight helps too. I am 240 (trying to get down to 200 for season) and the car has to weigh AFTER the race, with me, only 2050 lbs
