You definitely want DOM and not ERM. I know nothing of the reputation of this particular brand. I would also think you'd want the diaganol in the main hoop. And real padding for it, not pool noodles.

Maybe someone else smarter than me can chime in and help as well. bimmerforums auto-x and track forum would be a good place to post for info as well.

ERW is cheap - there's a reason for it. It's also not legal with any sanctioning body any more.

DOM is really the only way to go if you're spending the cash for a full cage.

safety devices is well known and has a good reputation within the porsche circle. I'm sure its a good choice. I however have been really happy with kirk racing products for my E30s, ive bought both bars and cages from them, prices are a little more reasonable too.

DOM is seamless tubing, it's also supposed to be stronger than ERW, and many race sanctioning bodies are now requiring DOM tubing.

ERW is "Electric Resistance Welded" tubing, basically they lay out a long narrow sheet of steel, then curl it up into a tube and weld the 2 ends together where they meet.

DOM tubing is 1.5-2x more expensive to buy than ERW.
