    24v PAX/RTP Class??

Hey guys -- trying to get into some local SOLO events with the S52 e30, but I'm scratching my head at the SCCA rule book trying to get myself a class and PAX factor!

What are you swapped guys running in?

I was thinking Street Mod, but then saw that the motor had to be available in that model

Then E Prepared, but saw that OE Head and Block must be used...

Do I have to run all the way in E Modified with a PAX of 0.928

Your car can run in street mod. The engine only needs to be from the maker IE BMW

Thanks guys. I wasn't reading it that way. After doing some more searching on that one bullet point, I was clearly off of the general consensus.

For anyone who finds this thread, from the SCCA 2013 rulebook:

        16.1.D
        1. Engine block must be a production unit manufactured and badged
the same as the original standard or optional engine for that model.
Badges that exist as marketing aliases for the manufacturer
will be recognized as equivalents. Swaps involving makes related
only at a corporate level are not recognized as equivalents. Models
produced as a joint venture between manufacturers may utilize
any engine from any partner in the joint venture, provided that
an engine from the desired manufacturer was a factory option in
that particular model (e.g., Eagle Talon, available originally with
either a Mitsubishi or Chrysler engine, may use any motor from
Chrysler or Mitsubishi). This allows engine blocks manufactured
as production units for sale in other countries such as Japan or
        Germany.

I'm running my s52 car in SM, but to have a chance at being competitive I run in the street tire class. Looks like you have a nice build, but running open SM you'll probably get destroyed as it's a pretty ridiculous class.

Locally we can run in SM-T2. I was unable to compete very well in SM (aboud 2-3 seconds off the pace) on R888s with an M50 and 4.10. I think given an S52 and slicks it might be a different story... Locally. E30s are not the best platform to compete with, though it can be "good enough" and still lots of fun.

Same here, though I doubt I could be competitive even with slicks. Locally there are quite a few high boost STi's and Evo's that are pretty nasty.
