Nice dude, what a course! You are super aggressive but if you are going for times you are probably overdriving a bit. Hard to see exactly what is going on in that course due to overexposure; if you want to use that camera angle try holding a white index car up to the gopro as you start it to trick it into using less exposure time, so we can see the course :p

Saw the 48.8 run and agree. I think inducing over steer with lift in tighter slower areas of a course could be beneficial, like in the beginning of the course on my most recent video. There is a quick s2000 guy, A-stock national champ, who's car was rotating nicely in that area. I believe he inducing it with lift. I'd like to master that technique.
craz azn didn't see much of the coarse but your form looks great!Comment

Huh? Nah the 48 wasn't recorded. Both gopros ran out of batteries after our second runs in the e30 :( that would have been faster had the slide been a bit better controlled, it just took a run or two to get it down :) bet it was fun watching us fly through that section though, lol.Saw the 48.8 run and agree. As for the technique it's mainly just a lift and a mild toss in, and try to get the car settled in a nice mild slide before you roll on the throttle again. Will depend on the car but it's what seemed like the fastest (and most fun) way around a corner like this.paint sucksComment

Pro solo runs from each course,M52 E30 so ran in SSM with 225 ZII's and right off the street so no chance.Ended up sending a well driven(trophied at the nats the weekend before this event) Z06 home in the best 2 of 3 eliminations so that showed promise.
Only event I've run the car, last one as well.SSM Miata build underway.
Anyways have a look,I know I need to slow my hands down.

Why are you in SSM? The e30 came with a back seat, so you should be in SM.Pro solo runs from each course,M52 E30 so ran in SSM with 225 ZII's and right off the street so no chance.Ended up sending a well driven(trophied at the nats the weekend before this event) Z06 home in the best 2 of 3 eliminations so that showed promise.

On another note, I haven't done any Pro Solo events, but that's a strange course setup. I'm sure that the space restrictions dictate the design, but it looks like there are only a couple different elements in the entire course.88 325is - S52 powered

SSM was likely a less competitive class than SM. My buddy won SSM at a pro solo last season in an Evo because they figured they had better chances there than in SM. I think their times were good for SM but wouldn't have brought home the Hoosiers in that class.paint sucksComment

Awesome, always feels great to embarrass some heavy hitters! Like craz azn, you have good instincts but are overdriving. Calm down and focus on keeping the rear of the car inline. Less wheelspin off the line would be faster as would less sliding in general. Swinging wild is fun but not fast--I think if you relaxed a bit your hands would slow down on their own.Pro solo runs from each course,M52 E30 so ran in SSM with 225 ZII's and right off the street so no chance.Ended up sending a well driven(trophied at the nats the weekend before this event) Z06 home in the best 2 of 3 eliminations so that showed promise.

SM or SSM same problem-on that day there was a 400hp impreza on 275 hoosier in sm and a supercharged Miata on 275's both with Areo and came on trailers. Why are you in SSM? The e30 came with a back seat, so you should be in SM.

Yes weird pro solo layout,it was a laid back event geared more towards fun hence the simplistic course aimed at the large amount of newbies. Also getting thru 2 runs each side for qualifying and then best 2 out of 3 elimation rounds meant short courses with minimal conage. The right course had some heavy frost heaves and generated some interesting chassis movements.
Btw in my defence its my 1st autox in a production car in a long time,2 yrs in an Amod and a couple events in an F500 early in the season than a long break nearly 4 months no driving at all...I was damn rusty!.Last edited by L8 apexr; 03-11-2014, 05:16 PM.Comment
