Time to play with the new video camera

New pavement at Mid Ohio, they finished laying it down less than 48 hours ago, needless to say, it was a little touch and go today. Fresh pavement, no more concrete ,and totally new curbs. It's a completely different track out there.

~25 mb, shot with my new toy, a cheapie little Canon ZR100 DV camera. Native 16x9 and a wide angle lense do a pretty sweet job.

Like I said, you've really become super smooth...despite the new track conditions.

Video quality is a lot better than your previous.

Much better video than your other ones..

Track doesn't seem to be as much 'fun' (wrong choice of word)...

      Nice though...

Motel 6 film quality should be better as well. That's some good res.

That looks like fun. What kind of speeds you see on a track like that?

Looks like he goes to around 110 or so. Maybe just 100. Hard to see the speedo.

Actually hitting about 124 on the back straight before I started backing off due to the brakes starting to fade.

lol Are you sure? Because at 125 it does back off even with your foot on the floor. Goes down a couple mph then will go back up to 125 and do it again... And yes, my car IS a POS. It idles like I have a crazy ass cam in it lol

                          Charlie,

Here is what one of the Bluegrass CCA guys said after watching your video - care to comment?

All the fun of a new track without having to spend a session figuring
                          out where you are going!

                          Should be fun.

-track out curbing at #1 looks much flatter (I'm not sure if that is
                          good or bad)
-no dip just before the apex at Keyhole
-brake zone at #7 looks nice and smooth now
-right side curbing at Carousel looks much less prominent (again I'm
not really sure that is a good thing)

Dave, where'd this get posted at? I'm interested in seeing how far these videos spread.

It's not really, it's actually a little taller.

-no dip just before the apex at Keyhole

                            Yep, they smoved that out.

-brake zone at #7 looks nice and smooth now

                            Again, also smooth and grippy

-right side curbing at Carousel looks much less prominent (again I'm
not really sure that is a good thing)

Curbing everywhere is higher, there's also a nasty one coming out of 16
