Buy SA2005. Otherwise you'll be gyping yourself out of five years of use.

Are you required to have an SA rated helmet? If not, a Snell M2005 is going to be even cheaper. And for Auto-x I'd get an open face helmet (better visibility). Open face are cheaper than closed face helmets also.

M2005 are motorcycle helmets. SA rated mean they lining is of nomex, which adds to the cost.

Many BMW CCA driving schools allow M rated helmets.

I'd buy a helmet locally so you can try it on for a good fit. A too-tight helmet will start to give you a headache, not a good thing when you are trying to concentrate on your driving.

The SA helmet is designed for multiple impact protection, whereas the M isn't. Just buy an open face SA2005 helmet, you won't be disappointed.

          Keep it slideways!!

            Beat me to it.

I got an SA2000 last year as the '05s weren't yet out - but it was pretty cheap.

An openface Pyrotect or G-Force is reasonably priced. Try to find a place where you can try them on first.

So it looks like the SA2000 is the way to go? Where's the best place to pick one up?

I'll need one this year, I don't really feel like borrowing helmets at all the auto-x's.

get the 2005 - the open face pyrotects and G-Forces are cheap and they'll be good 5 years longer. I would have gotten an '05 if I could have at the time I needed it.

Cool. I didn't really have the desire to get a closed-face helmet anyway, I don't like them. Kinda uncomfortable. I can see needing one for the track, but for an auto-x, an open face is fine.

                    got mine for 65$

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.
