    Matched harnesses?

Ok well I've been looking at a few different tech checklists for variose DE's just trying to figure what all I should go ahead and do to my car, so once I'm done with school I can take it to the track and not have any hassles. I've noticed a few schools require both Driver's and Passenger seat to have the same style seat belts or harnesses. I'm getting an SRD copy driver seat soon, and will be ussing it with my 6-point harness, problem is I don't have the funds for a second one right now, so the best I could do is a 4-point harness for the Passenger seat(stock sport seat). Do all DE's require matching harnesses? Or has it just been the certain ones I've been looking at? Has any one ran into an issue?

it's usually at the discretion of the steward. some instructors get pissy if the driver has all the cool safety equipment and they get stuck in a rickety seat with stock belts.

    do you have a bar?

yes, Kirk 4-point Bolt in, Hence the only reason I have a 6-point harness in the car. I completly understand the safety aspect of it for the instructer. At the least there would be a 4-point on that side, but the stock sport seat dosn't work with a 6 or 5-point safely. I'll have to look into getting a second seat for that side when the time comes.

Dude, we all want to be like Todd.

Worn out passenger seat complementing a race bucket in the driver's side is the new pushed in bumper & spraypainted "is" lip.

That, and some of us still need to toss shit in the back, and have a hard time trying to justify paying more for a reclining "race" seat then they did their fixed back.

          WE'SE CHEAP. CHEAP DAMMIT.

Ely, go pick up one of those Corbeau "baja" half height bucket seats. Run a lap belt from an 82 chevette anchored into your tranny tunnel with shooter screws.

FWIW (if anything) My instructor's e30 M3 was equipped on his side with a Momo Shell of some kind with 6 points. I was in a stock cardinal sport seat with a 4 point Schroth.

I'd say that if you are in a reclining sport seat with w 6 point and he is in a stock with a 4 point, it might fly, but there is no way to know until you get teched unless you perhaps call the Organization running the DE and pose the question to them.
