    Any tracks in NC?

Hello r3v, I posted this thread trying to locate some good tracks to bash my e30 around on. I am located on the border of Charlotte and huntersville in NC. I am looking for tracks local to me so that I can choose a path for this car. If I find some decent rallycross tracks I would love to build a mild rally racer but if they are very limited I would rather build something closer to a daily/drift car. I've tried google with little luck so please fill me in on any places you guys may know of.

Roadcourses are the local strength. The Lowes Motor Speedway infield course is only 20 minutes away. Carolina Motorsports Park is about 1.5-1.75 hours away and VIR is likely 2 hours from you.

There aren't rallycross "tracks" per se. Local clubs will put on a rallycross, but the locations will vary and they are setup usually the day prior to the event. - AB

Thanks man. The only thing that worries me is my access to cms. I'm close to it but I feel like it's a pain to get onto. Do you know of any of the clubs near Charlotte/huntersville that run rally type events?

This is the only club in NC that holds rallycross events. Most of the venues are in eastern NC (aka Wilson/Fayetteville), but there will be a large motorsports weekend next month at VIR that includes a HPDE, autocross, rallycross, and Kart enduro:

Tarheel Sports Car Club on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Virginia International Raceway, Alton, VA - Information Tar Heel Sports Car Club and the North Carolina Region SCCA are teaming up to bring you an entire weekend full of amateur motorsports at Virginia International Raceway! Between September ...

Thank you so much. I know I'm not ready for that event at vir but damn would I love to be.

I wish I could find an abandoned road course, kart track, or something that I could just drive right onto without having to wait for an event.

That's a good post. I have been registered for the HPDE for a while now. I did the kart enduro when THSCC did North Course earlier in the year, but it just too long of a day after being on track and in class all day. I'm not much for rallycross, but if I could do the autocross, I would.

When I lived in the Raleigh area, I was a Autocross VP with THSCC for a couple of years. They run a great show. - AB

              Here you go! www.dragonhillclimb.com

If you can't participate I figured maybe you'd like to spectate anyway.

If you want access to CMP you could run with the SCCA Southeast division Time Trials group, as long as you have a car that can pass tech. http://www.sedivtt.com/

Check out NCe30.com. We are actually having a meet at Ace Speedway for O'fest. Plenty of fun to be had. If you do FB, check the NCE30 group.

There are a lot of autox events nearby that are great for getting your feet wet. I have actually posted a schedule in the Southeast sub forum.

for track events, I have found the Porsche Club is a good route. I have been running with them for about 5 years.
