Do you want to keep or lose your teeth? Not form experience but I was told that they will raddle your teeth out fast. It might be okay if its not a DD

I'll chime in. I had them with Bilsteins on my Convertible - they were streetable IMHO. Springs and how they affect your ride is very subjective.

i would not hesitate to DD a car with H&R Race Springs. Hell, right now I am frequently driving with 475/650 linear rate GCs - and I dont find it too objectionable.

You might also see if RCWells can advise you. He DDs on Race Springs.

It's all about what size sidewall you have. Tires are a vital part of suspension, and if you are running 16s or 17s, you'd be murdered. I know on my soft GCs, 16s jarred me.

Factory-size tires and 15s aren't too harsh, and 14s... comfortable. If you are in a city with bad roads, they might get to you.

I'd personally go for Sports for a daily driver, since if you mod your car FUH RAZE then it's good 5 days a year, but sucks 360.

To follow up on what he said ^^^^^^

On my 'vert, I ran it both with 16s and 14s. The 14s were a better ride. I wouldnt say that it was jarring with the 16s, but it was rougher.

I'd say the low height is a bigger hassle than the spring rates. H&R Race are progressive arent they?

eh i'm not saying this like i'm some cowboy rebel but it's not that bad. besides, it really depends on what shock vavling you are running.

                      progressive ??

reason i ask, i plan on maybe going spec in the near future.
                      so they'll be on 15"s

progressive springs start out with a lower spring rate, and as the spring is compressed, the rate 'progresses', ie gets stiffer. So basically they have a low spring rate for small bumps and imperfections, but a higher rate for turns and other larger body motions.

If you're going SpecE30, might as well start learning the spec suspension now...

Well, if you plan on running "spec" I assume you mean SpecE30. So then you will be on H&R Race and regular off the shelf Bilsteins.

IMHO that will be tolerable on the street.

the springs get stiffer as they compress, instead of the same stiffness with linear spring... like on a coilover perch.

if you are looking to spec, just put them on. rock out with 205-55-15 tires for now on the street.

Some good responses here by drivers who know.......

I run HR race on 15's w/ GC Koni SA's...I set my car up similiar to Spec but not exact. Its tolerable but for a DD i would not do it. I drive as much as 5 hrs to tracks w/ a race seat........ok but not fun. Its hard to say....but if you are paying for labor and may run Spec..then do it, if not then do IE springs......similiar rates and cheaper. PM me...I may go J stock....Ill sell you mine.....whats your time schedule......?
I love sitting down and just driving!
