money is not that much of an issue. just looking for the better car.

everything i have read and seen it seems to show the subframe issue on the e36 can be cured.

just like the e36 325is is slightly faster than an e30 m3. I remember how the e36 m3 crowd screamed bloody murder when it was suggested the e46 330 was faster than their cars:p

with the inflated pricing on e30s these days and the price of an e36 being about the same whats so much more exspensive about the e36?

QFT!!! I got my 1994 325I for $3500, it was very clean with normal wear on the leather. Only thing it needed was a clutch. A stock, clean E30 can bring close to that or more.

wear items are marginally more expensive on the E36s I think, more so if you're running 17s.

^^ This is true, the little things do cost a bit more, also that 8 quart oil change sucks at $6 a quart......

assuming you buy the theory that 15k oil changes are the smart thing to do

Most smart people don't buy into the "15,000 mile oil change is ok", thing. I go 3 to 4 thousand.

Oil Changes should be done every 3000 miles REGARDLESS of the type of oil you use. Though synthetics don't break down as fast as dino oil it still picks up the same amount of contaminents.

BMW buys into it. Must be a bad idea.

It does of course, but its weight vs more modern susp and motor, not exactly a clear cut 'winner'

Most smart people connect the "4 year free scheduled maintence" with the 15,000 mile oil change routine... BMW could save themselves some $ and introduce this program
