aluminum Coolant Expansion tank

Hi all,

I wanted to find out if anyone has used an off-the-shelf aluminum coolant expansion tank in place of the stock late model piece.

I'm aware of the E30M3/early E30 model styles available, which would place the expansion tank on the battery box area. I'd like to keep it in the stock location.

Has anyone found something like this that fit?

I'm assuming you are running an aluminum radiator, but have you considered getting a tank and welding it onto the side of the rad? That's my plan, as I've been running the plastic tank in the stock location and it always gives me problems.

have not thought about that. Just picked up another OEM tank and will give it one more try! Hope it holds up to track conditions
