    Rally/Rallycross suspension setup?

We currently run in Stock class and so far the stock springs and Bilstein HD's are a pretty good combo. But I feel like a slightly stiffer spring might be better in terms of roll control. Or maybe bigger sways? I think I've heard of people running no sway even but I can't see that being the solution. Our local courses aren't terribly rough but they can have a spot or two where the soft springs are working pretty hard.

Coilovers with slightly higher spring rate than stock and stock height? Stock m3 springs? The really fast cars at our events seem to be slightly stiffer and slightly lower....

I know there are a handful of rallyx and stage rally cars on here, what's the consensus?

Try some spring rubbers and see if that starts going in the direction you want.

Check out the thread irish44j has on here and decide if his ideas will work for you.

Frankly, Bilstein sports with new cabrio springs for rough courses seem be the way to go on a budget. However, my 318is is just fine on H&R race with B sports, and has only eaten one oil pan. As you can compensate for the lowering with a taller tire to some degree.

No sway bar is also good for improved articulation.

Thanks guys, I'll dig through irish's thread again and see if I can find the parts where he's discussing their spring setup.

It does seem like some of the faster cars are pretty low and it's not a problem. Are the cabrio springs generally a little stiffer than standard e30 springs?

I wonder if Bilstein HD's are robust enough to hang with a coilover setup with higher spring rate but same ride height.

Vert springs are stiffer to compensate for the extra weight.
