    The 24 hours of lemons

    What's up everyone?
Has anybody here in the forum done the 24 hours of lemons? I'm pretty sure someone has put a team together here.
If so, any advise? What was your experience? Pics of your car and race prep.
Some friends and myself are putting an e12 together for the October 1st race. I would appreciate all the pointers and advise possible. Thanks

There are several teams on here.
    Solid first time advice: http://forums.24hoursoflemons.com/viewtopic.php?id=7415
Judge Phil has the best advice though: Focus on the cage, everything else can pretty much be figured out but that is the biggest deal breaker.

    Our car: http://www.murileemartin.com/UG/LMIS...-_MG_7580.html
Prep: took rolling parts car off a kid's yard and stripped it, made it run again with the most basic of maintenance of things (spark plugs, air filter, timing belt, etc.), replaced the rotors and went with PFC08 pads and got wheels/tires from Tirerack, roller painted it, then sat out half the first race since rust in the fuel tank was clogging the injectors. So wash your tank out before your first race... We also before the second race hacked the strut towers for more negative camber so it helped to avoid eating tires.

Other than that... stock 153k eta. Evil Genius said last race that we have the least cheaty E30 and we also have one of the slowest Class A cars so far.

If you run an E12, they should love it. They enjoy old cars and don't really like boring cheaty E30s but loved an E32 at the last race I was at. Especially if you are west coast, running unique or terrible cars help ensure entry vs. being waitlisted with an overly common or cheaty model.

Do it, you'll love it. #1 priority should be passing tech (READ THE RULES AND GUIDE), #2 should be staying on track as long as possible. Way down there is turning fast laps.

If you're interested in a smoking deal in a multiple class A top 10 (we'd probably let it go for <$2k including seat, Schroth HANS belts, Wilwood front brakes, and a crapload of spares), one time overall winner Fox Mustang, shoot me a PM. We're moving on to another platform. Very well sorted and reliable car.
