PRO-3 announces Toyo Tires as Series Sponsor

    (Seattle, WA)

PRO-3 announces Toyo Tires as Series Sponsor

The E30 PRO-3 racing class has added Toyo Tires as a series sponsor. The PRO-3 class has been running the Toyo RA1 as their specification race tire since the inception of PRO-3 in 2002. PRO-3 has grown from 4 race cars the first year, to anticipated grids of 20 cars for the Pacific Raceways races this year. PRO-3 will run a full 13-race schedule as part of ICSCC, competing at tracks in Seattle, Portland, Spokane and Mission BC.

Stan Chen, Manager of Motorsports and Events for Toyo Tires stated: “The Toyo RA1 has been the spec tire for the PRO-3 series since their inception in 2002. As we've watched the PRO-3 series grow, Toyo Tires is pleased to come on board this year as the series sponsor for 2007."

Payouts from Toyo Tires will be in the form of “Toyo Bucks” which can be redeemed for additional RA1 race tires. The size of the payout is based on the number of PRO-3 cars entered in each race and will be awarded as a raffle prize to one of the entrants. Each PRO-3 competitor who takes the green flag is eligible to win the Toyo Bucks raffle for that race. The breakdown for each race will be:

    1-5 cars: $100 Toyo Bucks
    6-10 cars: $200 Toyo Bucks
    11-15 cars: $300 Toyo Bucks
    16-20 cars: $400 Toyo Bucks
    20+ cars: $500 Toyo Bucks

Lance Richert, PRO-3 liaison to Toyo said: “The PRO-3 drivers are really excited to have Toyo on board with us this year. This is a spec class, and we all race on a budget. Last year PRO-3 averaged 10 cars per race, this year we think we’ll have a few more cars in each race. Toyo’s support will help stretch everyone’s racing budget a little more.”

On the tires, we can use either 14" or 15" wheels, so any RA1 that will fit those two wheels sizes. Most guys are running 225-50-14 tires.

The terms of agreement require us to run Toyo decals on the car. We're waiting for Toyo to send those up to us to re-decal the cars.

We'll run a large Toyo Tire decal on the top of the windshield, medium sized logos on the front fender over the front wheel wells, and smaller logos on the front and rear bumper. And we have to put a Toyo patch on our driving suits. Now we've got to find one of the driver's wife who can sew! :-)

So this goes to the winner or a raffle or both?

                Lance,

You don't have to sew. Go to a cub/boy scout store and get badge magic. Best thing going according to my wife! Works great...no sewing
