It's one or more of your fuel pumps (if your a 2 pumper).

My car did the exact same thing, with the exact same noise toward the end of last years autocross season. At the very last event of the season (Octocross) I made my very 1st run of the event and crossed the finish line and the car died. Couldn't here the pump anymore and lost all the rest of my runs for the rest of the day.

When I removed the pump and disected it, OMG it was toast, bits and pieces all over inside. Don't let this happen to you because it will.

^^ that stinks...specially having to tow it home. i'm doing all the suspension and bushings so i'll take advantage a do my pump.

i took a look today and saw that i have two caps under the rear seat, one being almost rectangular and the other circular. Under the rectangular there's lines and a plug so i'm guessing that's a pump...BUT under the circular one (driver's side), there's a plug and a shape just like the other side but no lines...so is a 1988 325is (9/87) a two pumper?

my aap doesnt have a haynes for this car so is there a pdf version?

After watching the video on that last left sweeper is that where the car stalled? If it was your original post says it happens when you turn right

Also, when the car stalls does the tach go to "0"? If it does it's probably not your fuel pump but most likely your DME. If it was your fuel pump you wouldn't have a power loss at the tach and it would still be showing your rolling RPMs. But if it's the DME is shutting off you won't register anything at the tach.

          Another possibility I've experienced,:puppy:

I bought the haynes manual and this thing is a piece of JUNK. That book has more "general overviews" than anything else. It has not been useful for fixing anything though.. so I leave it on the bathroom and read it for entertainment when I am taking a dump.

My question is this, is it easy to swap from a two pump setup to 1 pump on the early e30s ?

that could be a possibility, but idk maybe the gas tanks are different we have a pump on either side of the tank maybe its better in the end...e36's have two pumps the same exact way early e30s do.
