Anyone Up for a Track Day at Hallett Near Tulsa?

    Hi All:

I've got an itch to get back to Hallett (near Tulsa) and am thinking we could do this very inexpensively with around 25-30 drivers on Monday, October 29, 2007.

Essentially we show up, drive all day stopping only for new brake pads, bathroom breaks, food and fuel. Cost no more then $200 per driver. Plan on seven(7) twenty-five minute run sessions per group. No instructors, just lapping!

If you have interest, drop me an e-mail at Feffman@MVPTrackTime.com or call (314) 249-3770. I have a very short 3-4 weeks to get this finalized.

    Happy Motoring!

It's a full month after O-Fest, that is no excuse... :D

Unfortunately there is a race weekend there just prior, Sat/Sun (27th/28th) or I might be interested.

edit, here is some video of Hallett for anyone who hasn't been there. It's a fun technical track!

Nice track. It looks like it has good rythm and no slow corner. Hey Bob, what pads do you run? I am asking, as your brakes squeal and it often indicates they work at colder than optimal temps. Perhaps there is too much air ducting for this fast track. Don't be shy to block the ducts.

Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Lee, I was running HT 10's in front and either Polymatrix d or e in back (can't remember which). Front ducts were not hooked up. I've since switched to HT-10's all the way around (still no brake ducts) but I am currently looking around for a different pad in front and very open to suggestions.

btw, I owe you for that window banner! I forget how much it was, PM or email me so I can get you some $$!

                Hi Bob.

HT10 is also what Bill Caswell uses on his M3 at all 4 corners (13" x 1.25" - front - and 12.2" x 1.25" - rear -) and he's very satisfied too. Try Wilwood's E compound pads. They are very soft on rotors and offer great modulation. That's what I use on my M3 (front) and 2002 (all 4 corners). They may not have the grab of PF97s, but all is needed is a little extra pressure on the brake pedal. The banner is a gift.

Here's my 02's brakes. Front and rear. Superlite at all four corners.

Have you looked into Carbotech (www.CTBrakes.com) pads? Give Dan Puskar of Carbotech a call. I think you'll like the performance, feel and rotor friendliness of their pads.
