    Guys running bucket seats...

For side-mounted buckets, are there any alternatives to the VAC floor adapters?

I know I can make a custom bracket, but I was wondering if there were any other brands out supplying E30 adapters.

Also, what do people do about running stock seatbelts? You guys who daily drive your track/auto-x cars, what are you doing about that?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

Some vendors (Sparco for one) offer mounts for their seats. Those are almost always going to be special order items and who knows what the delivery time will be. Other than the VAC adapters a custom built unit is about your only choice if time matters. It isn't that hard to fab up an adaper if you have access to a welder.

You really can't use the OE cross-chest harness with a fixed back racing shell. I just use my 6-point harnesses when the track rat is on the street.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I guess harnesses would be okay, since the car is not going to see that much street action anymore.

I am using the MOMO slider brackets. They slide forward and backward as well as being able to tilt the seat.

I use their floor mount adapter and seat rails with a fixed-back seat currently. As a temporary workaround, I'm using the stock seatbelts. If you order the floor mount adapter from VAC, just ask for the stock seat belt attachment, and it shouldn't cost much more.

As in MOMO makes their bracket mount directly to the E30 floor and you can bolt in side-mounts? If so, then this may be an option. Have any pics?

Are you using MOMO or VAC?

Sorry, I use the VAC motorsports E30 floor mount adapters and VAC side mounts.

There is nothing complicated about running the stock seat belt once you have bucket seats.

the buckle end of the belt would be mounted to your inside side mount and then everything else is the same. other bmw's that want to do this have to buy e30 recepticles since they can move attached to anywhere, while newer models have them built into the seat.

I run a 6 point harness in mine with recaro spg's but I still have the 3 point mounted for when i drive up to the track.

I've got some aluminum brackets made by Lee Vuong of Massive Brakes. They mount to your OEM sliders. Cheaper than most of the other options and quality is good.

I am worried about seat height, I already have to have my seat reclined back in an uncomfortable position while I am wearing a helmet in my car, and the helmet still smacks the ceiling when I hit a bump.

What kind of hardware are you using to mount your SPG's? Have any pics?

I run VAC...costly but just save $$$$$ somewhere else...youll love em. Lee makes great stuff....look into it! I would have if Id known. And vac get you low...its hard to get low running sliders.
I use sparco side mts as well.

I run harness' on street...but only drive her to tracks.......
I love sitting down and just driving!
