Holy shit, I'm on another forum with another member of your team, lemme find out what his name is.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

I know Rich. I know everyone.

It's legit. The whole was built for an honest 2k. And about 30k worth of labor. (Seriously, engineers aren't cheap.)

PS: I am the one wearing last year's shirt.

                This was built for $2002:

You're not allowed any sponsors. In fact, all of the 'sponsor' decals on our car were cut out of vinyl sheet by hand because we couldn't afford to buy any.
You can recoup up to half the value of the car selling stuff off of it.
It's all in the labor. We mounted the 2002 on a rotisserie and basically did a ground-up, full shell rebuild over something like 8 months. The intake manifold and pulley tensioner were made from scrap aluminum. Doing most of your shopping at swap meets and finding bargains on message boards before anyone else is also key.

You are allowed to have sponsors. The catch is that everything they give you has to be budgeted in at FMV, even if it's free. We had to budget about $200 for wheels and tires we didn't pay for, and about $300 for motor parts we didn't pay for.

We sold it to a guy in California. I haven't heard anything about it since it left. It was also featured in an issue of Roundel a long time ago, though the article wasn't very good.

I've had enough with MS this weekend alone to not want to deal with it for the next decade :p
