Two 15x7.5 options I have seen talked about recently...

    Rota Slipstream from 18Racing.com

    15x7.5 +20 57.1 mm centrebore, E30-specific fitment

    6UL from 949 Racing
    http://949racing.com/index.asp?PageA...ATS&Category=2
15x7.5 +34 59.1 mm centrebore, probably will need spacers

Obviously tho you don't have a lot of choices if you want a 3pcs wheel in 4x100 other then custom made. I still think if I every dropped from the 18x10 combo I'd get Diamond Racing Wheels in the extra lightweight steel. I think it was going to be <5# per wheel difference.

I already checked with Diamond, and their lightweight wheels won't fit. If you're willing to run a 1" spacer to clear the brake caliper, then they can make a set. Personally I'm not willing to do that--it would also negate a lot of the weight savings to get that extra offset. I really don't care about 1 piece vs. three piece, but weight does matter. I really noticed the extra weight of the 16x9s I ran last year at ~21 lbs apiece, plus the 245/45/16s were heavy tires.

I have another order in the works for 15x10 aluminum wheels, made in the USA. I've gotten good recommendations about the company, and they can get them done in 2-3 weeks as opposed to mid June for Kodiak. I'll let you guys know if it works out.

From what I've read on the SCCAForums a lot of those guys are using it on brand new tires (as they claim you should do), and it is suppose to extend the life.
I noticed no decrease in life, just that the tire returned after a heatcycle or two back to there "hard" condition. Not that they didn't grip, but it was nothing compared to fresh, but then you r-compound people know what I'm talking about. As a $20 bottle easily could last a full season or two its not a bad investment.

i'm starting to wonder about formV though. Its like its been shortening the life once used. Yeah, it does a good job for the outer coat but the life starts to drop off considerably after application. Plus, i'm working with older tires, i'm afraid to put it on my brand new ones for this speculation alone so i dont know exactly what to expect.

As for tirewear I actually pushed 150 runs out of my last set, died from heatcycles not wear. It started just requiring Formula V treatment to get 3 good runs before it would die again. BTW, the Formula V stuff really does work, kinda smelly to work with, but takes dead tires and does give them new life. Using it on my new set, going to see how much longer the useful life is on my V710s.

Well, they're on the way back. Not the offset that was advertised, and needs a spacer up front to clear the caliper. I guess I'm calling Kodiak.

Do a google. REAL racing wheel is a brand. MUCH cheaper than other alternatives.
275 and 315 17's will both be to tall, ESPECIALLY in the front......I may eventually go to a 315/35/17 rear or 305/30/18 rear but I expect to do ALOT of sheetmetal work, and have alot of power.....A 285/30/18 is probably your best bet. Best combination of width vs height.

I need to decide on 17" wheels or 18". I REALLY want to run a 17" wheel:

Lighter, cheaper for semis but need to clear 350mm discs + calipers (yeah I know)

The semis I want to use are available in:

    17/245/40= ~ 628mm
    17/275/40= ~652mm diameter
    17/315/35= ~652mm

    18/265/30= ~616mm
    18/285/30= ~628mm diameter
    18/305/30= ~640mm

This wheel is available only 18" upto 12" wide :)

    :-?

Does anyone know of any 17X11.5 17X11, 17X10.5 or 17X10" wheels in 5X120 that aren't boat anchors?

If anyone can also comment on their experiences using appropriate tire sizes in semis on a E30?
