To see last years Nationals, where Daddio in the white Evo took the win....Note that IMO is speed is a perspective thing, at least to me. Because in the video it looks like he is driving MUCH, MUCH faster. But there were some people right on his heels.:p

After posting a link I gotta double check it to make sure it is working.....It's all good:D

Now watching that, it's a bit obvious to me that the BMW's need to put power down....This DOES worry me a little bit, because with the new proposal talked about in the other thread, I'd like to stick to 275 width tire.

I may however add 15x11's and 275/35/15's in front and 16x10's, or even 16x9.5's in back with a 275/45/16 rear tire..... First the extra 1" of wheel width will stretch the front 15" tires sidewalls out a bit potentially making the tire a little more responsive...

In the rear the quite a bit taller tire, will have a taller sidewall, and the wheel choice will allow that sidewall to flex a bit. Helping to put power down, a little better......

Didn't look like a problem getting the power down, IMHO, looked like one of corner speed.

Like I mentioned, their is a perception thing. Vic was NOT that far back from Mark. Based on Marks power and weight, vics car simply HAS to have higher cornering speed or he would NEVER even be close. Let alone win two national championships, and two seconds in four years......Woulnd't you at least partially agree??

Alot of the video is perception. The black FWD Honda on small tires appears to be carrying some major speed and even much more than the 275 tires Travis' entry Honda.

My point about putting power down is simply something that with a small light car with lots of power needs to concentrate on anyhow. Add on top of that competing against AWD cars in the same class.........

All autoxing is IMO is dragracing with turns. You don't make up time on the brakes. And even the turns if taken into context. A car COASTING at max speed with big Hoosiers, and a decent camber curve just is NOT going to give up much to any other car that is semi-similar. (meaning similar size tires, camber, weight, and NOT a completely horrid design) What seperates those cars is the turning while powering out...............My S/P car even with big power was setup so that you could be on the power VERY early. Unfortuneately I wasn't the best at remembering that all the time.
