Spec E30: NASA Southeast Race Video

Just got back from our second visit of the season to CMP.

Had lots of rain on Saturday and a wet cold track on Sunday morning. Qualified 12th out of 19 and quickly lost 3 positions at the start due to spinning my wheels :( But it was still a great race. All 30+ minutes were a battle to catch up of fend someone off.

    enjoy

He had a #1 on the side of his car (painter tape) but other than that, all I can say is... Welcome to NASA Southeast

That's how we roll... rules are just to keep a-hole from cheating. Other than that we're pretty relaxed.

I don't know what else to tell you?

What was up with everyone passing you off the start? Wheel spin? Time for and engine rebuild? Looks like a blast. Can't wait to get some seat time. Olh and i love the green mirrors.

Wheel Spin :| My motor is strong.

We had a torrential down pour the 2 days before, in-fact the track was still wet when we went out to qualify. I gave up 3 spots before turn 1.

I was just a bit overly aggressive. I need to do a lot of work on my starts.

Nice move by the Bronzit at 3:20.

Looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

I'm seriously so jealous. I want to do SpecE30 racing so badly, but being in college doesn't help to much for the time being... but hopefully it will open doors for the future, and I can do as much SpecE30 as there is to offer!

Good race though, I see the improvements from your first Beertech Video, hehe. Good stuff though man!

I sold my M Coupe (s52 Imola beauty) to fund my E30 racing venture. While I miss having the Coupe as my dd ,I haven't regretting selling it for a second. But it does help to have a job when you go racing.

You'll get out there in due time.

Thanks for the compliments on the video. Not sure which was the first video you saw? if it was the turn 10 VIR wall collision... I guess I had no where to go but up from there

Awesome stuff, very entertaining! I love seeing the tricks and testicular fortitude used in battles for first place.

                            JP,

THanks for posting that. Very enjoyable to watch a good battle like that.

If not for that one turn that seemed to give you fits . . .

Good to see you are doing well so far this season. I guess a year of racing and a freshened motor are paying off.

Are you running the R888s yet?

Thanks Dave. T11 is the one that sucked. I was getting very significant brake fade from about the mid point of the race. It was my own fault, I haven't bled them since the first weekend this year. I've been running the R888's all year. They're great......shaved. Unshaved, not so much.

A fresh motor, LSD, and calipers are worth their weight in gold in this series. Mine is just a rebuilt head. What really stinks is that Mike Skeen has the most powerful car in the South East. Oh, and all the talent. What a dick.
