NASA Southeast had another great weekend of racing. We've seen quite a bit more bent metal this year than last, but as this little clip shows, it's not always "in-class" cars that can get ya... it's those other guys.



This video is from Sturday's sprint race soon after (a lap or 2) a red flag. The Miata hits the e30, wich resulted in the Miata taking on a little damage and totaled an innocent 944 and the spec e30 he punted.

I was the first car to make it through cleanly... followed shortly by the white Miata who would end up punting me in Sundays race, causing me to loss a position (I'll post that video soon).

How wierd, a Miata involved in an incident. And an incident where it might seem the Miata driver was at fault. Shocking and I just don't see where they get their reputation from.

Glad you didn't get involved in that one Scott; can't imagine coming into a dust cloud like that. You must've felt like Cole Trickle for a moment!

That was my friend RL Mitchell in the 944. I haven't seen the car yet, but reports are that it's wiped out.

From all reports, Both the 944 and E30 are done... the SM only had a little damage and was back out there racing on Sunday.

Once the NASA officials review my Sunday footage, I'll post the video of me getting punted coming out of 7 by another impatient SM driver.

A friend of mine who was right behind me in an SM has some pretty good footage of my trip thru the dirt. I'll post that too when I get it. From his POV, there was nothing subtle about the move.

Red clay or not... it was a bit of a brown moment.

It was pretty brown weekend for a lot of people. I've seen pics and vids of several offs.
