    JGood,
Why not attach it on top of the carpet? The carpet thickness at the mounting mounts is nonexistant, no?

Also, what method did you use to line everything up and drill? Put the stuff together then drill pilots from the bottom?

Found some pics. Do not install it on top of carpet like I did. I just did that to get the car back together for an autox, I'd never go on the track with it like that. You'll notice I drilled the holes wrong, so I still had to use spacers between Lee's mounts and the angle aluminum. I've since corrected those flaws. Expect to spend 3-4 hours on the install.

Having a shop build you a custom install usually takes about 4 to 5 hours, per side. Lotsa thinking, cutting, welding and drilling. And it costs a lot. Which is why I came up with Massive's sidemounts. At least it allows anyone to do his own custom install, easily. Fixed or sliding.

I may be contacting you soon about some side mounts and the slider adapters. Do you have a price range for both of those pieces shipped to SoCal? I really like the black side mounts with the red MASSIVE logo. Pure sex

Maybe Lee can make adapters with an integrated base for an E30?

Or how about welding the factory sliders so they are in a fixed position?

Do a google search for FIA approved 2 piece side mount brackets......Those brackets are all extrusion and strong.

Why would you weld the factory sliders? If you are going to use them they may as well slide. It's not like the factory slider moves inadvertently

That's definately the cleanest setup. And in all honesty-probably one of the cheapest when all is said and done.
