Anyone got any picts of their Autopower bar mounted to the floor? I got mine fitted in the car the other week but it seems like the bar is too narrow up front as the mounting plates don't sit directly over the flat part floor.
A couple of notes:
1. The floor plates are much more narrow for the new bars. My Autopower in the red car does not allow the seatbelt bar to be in place and I had to fabricate new ones.
2. The bar is attached right at the edge of the lip, this is to allow the seat belt bar to fit, (see last picture).
3. I know I installed the floor bolts upside down. I purposely did this because on the drivers side the fuel lines are in the way and everything fits better and cleaner this way. the passenger side was done this was for symmetry.
BMWpower, this is a clients car and i'll have it delivered tomorrow. If you have anymore questions or requests for pictures ask them now man.
Thanks for replying. Yea, my rollbar must be an older model. My plates I'm guessing are about 50% wider than yours, so the end hangs over the bend in the floor. WTF am I supposed to do, fab something up?!? Ugh. I thought this thing was supposed to be a drop in deal.
I would do the bolts the same way. Easier to see if things are loosening up when they are on top
Ill take pics of the bar I fabbed for the seat belts in my car for you.
Im in the same boat as you. I wish I could use the stock bars. Oh well.
You mean the stock seat belt bars? Oh, I thought I wouldn't be needing those since I was gonna get harnesses (I took them out but still have them in the shop). Or maybe I'm overlooking something.
Oh im sorry I misread what you were saying.
Are you sure the bar is flush and in place when the plates over hang? Mine was doing the same on one side until I got the rear plates in place. Then everything fell together beautifully.

Yea, it really can't go either way side-to-side to get lined up. The mounting plates are equi-distant. I just don't get it. I really need to take some picts. Hopefully tonight.
