    Delrin trailing arm bushings

Looking for a place that sells delrin trailing arm bushings. I talked to Turner Motorsports today and they only had ploy. I have delrin in my car now and can't remeber were I got them from. I checked akg, ireland, bimmerworld, flying brick. TC kline lists them on there site but the price is $250 that seems crazy when ploy is like $100. Korman aslo list delrin for about the same price. Is korman still in bisness I sent them a email but haven't got a reply yet.

Any leads on delrin would be great.

If you're handy on a lathe of have a buddy who is, just make a set. They're really simple, and I was able to buy a stick of delrin locally for $18. They work awesome.

Those are poly, this is the email I received when I asked about Delrin:

              Hello,

We produce the rear trailing arm bushings only in Poly 75D, including those Turner sells. Poly 75D has practically the same hardness as delrin, but is not as brittle, so we think it is a superior material for this use.

Thanks for your interest in our products.

              Regards,

There is debate that UHMW plastic is better than Delrin, and easier to machine.

Read through all three pages, there's a lot of useful info there, and it takes a while to sift out.

Ya I had a set of poly bushings that wore out in a year and a half. Were I've had my delrin for over two and no issues. Delrin is self lubing were ploy requres use of grease. Well I will keep looking.

After reading that I guess the question is do you know anyone making trailing arm bushings from UHMW for a e30 or a place that would copy ploy bushings? I would be willing to buy a set of ploy and having at least 10 full set made if you did have the contact info of a place that would make some.

From my experience working with both plastics, I'd stick to delrin for RTABs. UHMW is neat stuff, but I'd question long-term durability and stability in a car you really lean on: it's kinda soft. It is famous for its natural lubricity, and would be better suited for a sliding solid "bearing" application. Delrin has been proven as a solid-substitute bushing material for years. In other words, use UHMW in the presence of high friction and low force loads, like a (continuously) rotating shaft or sliding puck.
