Thanks.....a little bit tricky with the urathane mounts and the PS pump attached but generally fine.....Gear linkage is all wrong as it was originally a 318is....I will have to research that one...
You mean shift linkage? Consider building your own shift rod. This allows custom shifter placement (front/back), and also gives you the opportunity to make a double-shear part, like UUC's. You will be glad you did. I used the shifter from a Z3 (3.0:1) If you like shifters with no slop, it's the way to go.
I have a Z3 Shifter but it is the actual "shift linkage"....(sorry I'm British) arm that needs to be shorter now I have a Getrag 260....
Unfortunately my fab skills are not that hot to make one....
Oh, you mean the cast piece that holds the pivot cup? Get a new one from the dealer for a late-model 325i. Should bolt right in. You will need the bushing for the front end as well; consider plastic instead of stock rubber.
Got a bit more done today....sorted out shifter,FPR,Wiring, Header on and on...I have also included some pics of the underside if anyone is interested..
looks very good except for one thing... It doesn't look like you welded on reinforcements to where the swaybar link mounts to the rear trailing arm. It will break off, there is a lot of force on that point. Mine broke after one track day.
I notice you are running an OC84 filter, rather than the OC49. Any reason other than it's shorter?
Those collectors look big. What pipe size?
When are you gonna start it?
Agree with others in that rear sway link attachment on the trailing arms need reinforcement, especially with that big bar. Did you add the body reinforcements?
