    Solid rear subframe?

I just bough a car I will use to do some lapping, solo1 and solo2.

The car actually have this welded bar in the back:

The sub frame is bolted to this bar.

I got those solid bushing with the car:

I know must install because now my subframe is "semi solid" and its not good...

But, is it good to have a solid subframe?

The car also have a solid TMS diff bushing...

Remember that I live in quebec and that the roads and the tracks are bumpy here!

    Thanks for your advices!

It's good. You use your springs and shocks and sometime anti roll bar to adjust for the bumps. The solid bushing just give you much less play in the suspension mounting system to have to deal with.

It will be a lot louder in the car and you will feel a lot more vibration. It won't be good for driving on the street because of that. But it really should not have any affect on how the car handles the bumps except to make it work better.

Wow, that is done incredibly well!

Wish when I had the cage done on the car that I had tied the inner subframe mounts directly into the cage. Next time I guess.

We also have solid subframe mounts, but as I said in elsewhere that I haven't used them yet. Yet my friend used his for the 1st time the otherday and I didn't hear any complaints from him.

I don't really get your question... What do you mean by plates?

I drove the car a bit. When I accelerate on decelarate with engine break, the diff seems to make a noise. I tought it was the bearings, but a bmw mechanic told me it could be the gears.

Since the diff is directly bolted to the chassis and that I have a solid diff rear mount, could that noice be normal?

                      Thanks!

Part of the reason to get the rubber out of the suspension is to get you more connected to the road. The "butt" dyno works better so to speak. That being said, you should also consider putting in a race seat. Sitting on a cushy seat, even an E30 sport seat, is a lot of disconnect from the road.

Yes, I totally agree with you. And also you do that to avoid any unwanted compliance.

Anyway, Buying a race seat was in my to do list.

That said, my question was more about the noise coming from the rear end. It doesn't sound normal. Sounds like a bearing at the end of his life...
