    auto prune = teh BOOO

    i've already lost data on a purchase of an item I have not yet recieved, and not having the thread doesn't help any

    plus the archives are useful sometimes, or a lot of times, in my opinion. oh well

    The prune on the FS+WTB forum is 30 days. Plenty of time for a transaction to complete.

        They are useful for trying to figure out how much you can get for or how much you should pay for an item, I think.

          90 days would be better please.

          buy something on ebay.de
          send email. get answer in 2-3 days
          have to request again paypal or bank info
          get answer in 2-3 days
          send money
          get answer in 5-7 days
          explain "LUFTPOST"
          package send post anyway
          get package in 10-45 days

          more than 30 days

          same thing over boards especially if you use other means of transport.
          It may be 2-4 months before you actually see the product.

            Maybe I'm just weird, but whenever I've done a big ticket transaction online, I get the information from the person directly: Email addy, home addy, phone #, etc. I get it and have it all in hard copy on my own machine, I don't rely on a messageboard to store it for me.

                I agree. We all hate the "make an offer" for sale posts, but the truth is most of us have no idea what things go for.
