    TheBMWPartStore

    Hi,

I would like to know if anyone of you have dealt with this online retailer, TheBMWPartStore? The URL is www.bmwpartstore.com.

I ordered some parts online two weeks ago and was told thru my personal email (yahoo mail) that it would take 5-10 working days to get the parts, and agreed to wait.

Anyway, as with most online stores, they do have a secured shopping cart (this had a GoDaddy certification/ security system) where you can enter all your personal and payment details, credit card included.

Fast forward to 28 June, the guy who wrote me sends me a note that the parts have arrived and they're ready to ship. At any rate, here's where it becomes interesting:

    1. It goes something like this..."We finally got all of your parts in from ... There was an error in our system and you credit card got deleted . Whenever you get a chance please contact me with your information so we can get this shipped out..."
    2. I reply by asking him to trace order no. xxxxxxx,
    3. ...and he replies the next day that they need some form of payment.
    4. I oblige by going back to their site, trace the order number, and re-enter my CC details into their system. I send him a note that I re-entered the CC info in their system, and he can take it from there.
    5. He writes me back again, and says "Our website deleted your credit card information because of security risks being attached to it and our system does the same thing after some many days."
    6. I write him back and tell him that I re-entered the CC info, and their site claims that they have some sort of certification. It also says that they keep this info for 3 months, but will delete it thereafter...and add that I won't send CC info over email (my Yahoo & his Gmail).

It has been three days and there has been no response. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them.

Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks.

I always PM them directly on BimmerForums and order that way.

I followed your advice, and its been a week since the guy sent me a message that they're shipping the goods. But when I asked for the tracking number, up to now, and with several PMs, no response?

      Hmmm....

Used Matt's recommendation and ordered through PM on bimmerforums and used paypal.

The order was placed Monday, item was shipped with tracking Thursday, and it's scheduled for delivery Tuesday.
