Any way to limit the number of characters a user can post in the first 10~20 posts to keep these stupid cell phone spam threads from popping up?

I figured if maybe new user accounts were limited to ~100 characters per post these spam accounts would be useless.

I think we should do something to stop them but that is definitely not the answer. It encourages new members making short, useless posts which is essentially more spam. It also stops them from making proper intro threads.
Requiring activation is also not a good solution. That was one of the main reasons for e30tech's downfall.(the forum is basically dead now.)
The mods seem to be doing a pretty good job at deleting them as it is, the threads usually don't last more than a few hours.

I have no idea if this is possible but trust me, I hate them too.

I am deleting/banning these spammers daily.
